Davina tries to keep sugar at bay. “I try not to goad the sugar bear,” she told HELLO! “I’m not being all holier than thou by cutting out refined sugar, I’m just trying to help myself because once I start, I can’t stop.” “According to a review in the Journal of Endocrinologywhen we eat too much sugar, the excess glucose our body can’t process quickly enough can increase levels of pro-inflammatory messengers called cytokines. And that’s not all. Sugar also suppresses the effectiveness of our white blood cells’ germ-killing ability, weakening our immune system and making us more susceptible to infectious diseases,” says the 14-Day Anti-Inflammatory Diet.

Forget about coffee or hot water with lemon! Davina starts her day with collagen-infused tea. “I have the powdered bovine collagen – you can get marine collagen too by Ancient and Brave, £22,” she revealed to Get The Gloss. “Single-sourced collagen is from one animal (chicken, fish, beef, egg) while multi-sourced collagen comes from two or more animal sources. Choosing a multi-sourced powder will offer you a wider variety of proteins. Top brands in the industry may also advertise being sourced from grass-fed beef or may be gluten-free,” says the Mayo Clinic.

“I try not to eat until after I am finished [with my workout] so sometimes I might not eat breakfast til ten,” Davina added to HELLO! “I would probably have granola and milk for breakfast,” she says. “But sometimes, if I’m naughty, I’ll do a crumpet.” “Those who ate breakfast very frequently put on less than 3 pounds in the past year,” says Dr. Virend Somers, a Mayo Clinic cardiologist. “Those who ate breakfast maybe one to four times a week put on about 5 pounds. The ones who didn’t eat breakfast at all put on about 8 pounds in the year prior to them seeing us.”

“I try to have my main meal at lunch,” Davina told HELLO! “So usually something like pasta, or a courgetti, or eggs with something.” She loves cream cheese sauce. “I always use Philadelphia Light,” she added. “Because it gets that really nice, creamy taste, but obviously it’s lighter so it’s a much better option. I literally put it in almost anything. If I’m making a tomato sauce, I put a teaspoon in there.” Another go-to meal? Fish, with vegetables and some carbs.

“If I’m with the kids I’ll probably do some kind of meat and potatoes,” she told HELLO! about what she eats for dinner. “But I might have a salad with some of the meat. Likewise, if I’m doing a roast chicken, they might have chips, but I’ll just have the chicken on a salad with some avocado, or another kind of crunchy vegetable I can find.”

“I want to inspire everyone to get up and go do something. Doing anything will make you feel good about yourself – it doesn’t have to be a spin class or boxing class, it could be a simple walk. Just do something!” she said in another interview with HELLO! “I feel like I just want to show people that you are never too old to do anything. You’re never too old to start getting fit,” she continued. “Body confidence is not about the size you are, it is about how you feel about the size that you are. My mental health improves when I eat better and exercise.”

In an interview with Women’s Health, she added that she sweats for longevity. “Previously, my ‘keeping fit and healthy’ was all about my body and making myself look hot in a bikini… and actually, now it’s just about staying alive longer and being in the best possible position to beat anything should it come my way, ” she explained.
