PARIS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Regulatory News:

Press release – Paris, June 20, 2022

Pernod Ricard (Paris:RI) today announces the signing of an agreement to sell the Scotch Whiskey Tormore brand and its distillery to Elixir Distillers, a company co-founded by brothers and entrepreneurs Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh.

Tormore is an iconic distillery in the Speyside region, the historic heart of the Scottish malt industry. This listed building, built in 1960 and with a capacity of almost 5 million liters of pure distilled alcohol per year, is as famous for the quality of its scotches as for its architectural design. Tormore is a well-known brand for its single malts, especially its 14 and 16 year old editions.

This agreement strengthens the already close relationship between Pernod Ricard and the Singh brothers, co-founders in 2017 of Elixir Distillers, a whiskey specialist, and creators of the largest online spirits sales site, The Whiskey Exchange, which Pernod Ricard has made acquisition last year.

Alexandre Ricard, Chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard, says: “Active management of our portfolio is an integral part of our long-term strategy. The sale of the Tormore brand and distillery follows on from the recent announcement of investments in the Aberlour and Miltonduff sites, which will increase our Scotch production capacity to 14 million liters per year. . We are delighted to entrust Tormore to Sukhinder and Rajbir, two extremely creative friends and entrepreneurs, and look forward to collaborating with them again on other projects. »

Sukhinder Singh adds: “Tormore is one of Speyside’s finest distilleries. It produces excellent spirits and fits perfectly with the philosophy of Elixir Distillers, which consists in marketing only the best quality whiskies. We will build on the work already done by Pernod Ricard to rekindle all the magic of Tormore and introduce consumers around the world to this little-known gem. We are honored to be the new custodians of Tormore and could not dream of a better distillery to welcome into the Elixir family, alongside Portintruan, our future Islay production unit. »
