Leechburg Rotary to collect pajamas, children’s books

The Rotary Club of Leechburg and Leechburg Area High School Interact Club are sponsoring the Pajama Project collection through Dec. 14 in the Leechburg area.

Donations of new pajamas for men, women and children in all sizes, men’s sleep pants and new children’s books will be accepted at the following locations: Kalmar Motors, Christ the King Church and Hunt’s Hill Top, all in Gilpin; and Goat Donut Shoppe, Quarato’s Hardware, Leechburg Public Library, Marconi Club, Leechburg Pizza and First Methodist Church.

Monetary donations may be sent to the Rotary Club of Leechburg, PO Box 163, Leechburg PA 15656. Donations will be sent to HAVIN, Children Youth and Families of Armstrong County and the Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center.


Murder mystery dinner to benefit feline rescue

A murder mystery dinner to benefit Kiski Valley Cat and Kitten Rescue will be Dec. 11 at The Lamplighter Restaurant, 6566 Route 22, Delmont.

Doors open at 5 pm and dinner will be at 6:30 pm Tickets are $55 and include dinner, gratuity, non-alcoholic beverages and the show. There will be a 50/50 and basket and 50/50 raffles. For tickets, call Kathy at 724-777-1220 or Shirley at 724-448-5523.


Annual Christmas for Vets event planned Dec. 5

Five Forces will host its seventh annual Christmas for Veterans event Dec. 10 at the School House Hall, 171 Thorn St., Oklahoma Borough.

Doors open at 5 pm Dinner will be served and there will be entertainment, drinks, raffles, merchandise and prizes. All veterans and current members of the military are welcome. Attendees must show DD214 paperwork, current military ID or proper discharge paperwork. Tickets are free for veterans and current military. Guest tickets are $25 each, plus drinks.
